ABSTRACT GUIDELINES
The Anuradhapura Medical Association invites you to submit abstracts for the Annual Academic Sessions 2026 under the theme of ‘Rooted in heritage, CALL advancing through science’
IMPORTANT DATES:
Opening of the abstract submission: 04th July 2026
Abstract submission deadline: 6th September 2026, 23.59 Sri Lankan time
Abstract acceptance notification: 15th October 2026
Registration for presenting authors: 1st November 2026
INSTRUCTIONS FOR ABSTRACT FORMATTING
1. Abstracts must be submitted through this forum.
2. If an author submits multiple abstracts, they should be submitted separately, through this forum.
3. All abstract formatting instructions are stated in the abstract template. Please download the MS Word template
from this link:
4. Please paste your structured abstract into the content box provided in the submission portal and upload the abstract, prepared according to the guidelines, as a Word document in the attachment section.
5. Please DO NOT include any tables/graphs/figures or references within the body of the abstract. Only the text of the abstract should be included.
6. The body of the abstract MUST NOT exceed 300 words.
7. Research abstracts should be structured as Background, Objectives, Results, Conclusion.
8. Case reports should be structured as Background, Case summary and Conclusion.
9. 3-5 Keywords have to provided.
10. The submitting authors should declare that all authors stated in the abstract are informed of the abstract submission, and their authorship sequence.
11. Please note that NO amendments to the submitted abstracts (including the list of authors) will be entertained after the submission.
12. Accepted abstracts will be published in the conference proceedings.

IMPORTANT NOTICES
All health research studies involving human participants and studies with animal experimentation should have obtained ethical approval. All clinical trials should be registered with a Clinical Trials Registry. Authors should provide the letter of approval from an accepted Ethics Review Committee (ERC) for research studies and the registration number for clinical trials upon request.
Anuradhapura Medical Association considers plagiarism a serious professional misconduct. All abstracts are screened for plagiarism; when identified, the abstract and any other abstracts submitted by the same author will be rejected.
All the authors should declare any conflicts of interest during their presentation at the congress.
POST SUBMISSION PROCEDURE
A panel of reviewers will review abstracts anonymously, and the decision of the Scientific Committee will be final. Successful Corresponding authors will be notified via email by 15th October 2026.
The presenting author is required to register for the sessions upon acceptance of the abstract.
